Pink Saturday Shelley Rosebud Chintz, Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief

Good morning (we are on the west coast after all!) to you all! It's Pink Saturday with Beverley.

I am sharing another Shelley China pink teacup...this a pale pink Hulme's Rose chintz in the Ripon shape that I just love!

For more info about the teacup at Antiques And Teacups click on the photo.

Pale pink and roses...how can you be more feminine or elegant than that? Make you want to head for the kettle, a throw, a friend and a crackling fire on a grey spring Saturday. I am looking forward to all the other pink contributions this morning. They are such eye candy! So many imaginative ladies out there!

On a different note, we were contacted by several folks who know we are on the west coast, Strait of Juan de Fuca really who were worried about us with the tsunami. Here is what the local marina, Port Angeles Boat Basin had to say in a tweet: the water in the marina is dropping 52 inches every 12 minutes and then flowing back into the marina at about the same rate.

He says the process has picked up since about 10:30 this morning.

Faires likened it to a fast tide change and says there has been no damage to the boats or marina facilities."

We are 200 feet above sea level and 2 miles from the coast so had no problems and again thank the folks who enquired about our welfare. We are praying for Japan and the other affected areas.

World Vision, a Christian relief organization with offices in Japan is already mobilizing. To give to the effort here is a link:

  2. What a beautiful teacup! love the pattern and the color on it, yes I was worried as well for my family back in Indonesia who also had a tsunami warning after it hits japan, thankfully it didn't reach as it's expected and thank god my family also live far from the the coast. We all pray for Japan and other affected areas. Thanks for visiting my blog :)

  4. Sweet sweet sweet teacup!

On a sadder note, we sent help but then you start to think.."did we even make a dent with what we sent?"...doesn't seem like it but I hope so.

    Happy PS
