Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Nail File

archive at Antiques And Teacups
This is an art nouveau sterling silver nail file that is a classy way to file those nails. I fell in love with it when I found it, and couldn't wait to get it listed. I absolutely love art nouveau designs as this is typical of the period just around 1880-1900.

One of the fun things about victorian vanity items are that they can still be used and bring a bit of elegance to the dresser. The victorians did such a great job of make everything, no matter how mundane or simple, to be an object of beauty. I'm glad so many items remain as I love them!

To see more photos or read more info about the nail file, just click on the picture which will take you to the listing at my site Antiques And Teacups.

I hope you all had a marvelous Christmas...we certainly did and are looking forward to turkey leftovers for dinner tonight! It's why I love to make my own at home. More leftovers!!!

Enjoy your holiday weekend.

Shelley Pansy Chintz Cup And Saucer...WOW!

archive at Antiques And Teacups
I'm in LOVE!!! Not only is this a Shelley China cup and saucer, but it's a rarely seen chintz pattern called Pansy chintz. I'd forgotten I's found it last buying trip to England and unwrapped it a few days ago from the trip stock we are still inventorying. Talk about an early Christmas present...that's what it felt like.

And also fun from a discovery angle, thye Shelley pattern books say that the pattern with this number was put on an Ely shape, but this is an earl Cambridge. The mark is also listed as the 1925-1940 mark, but the cup and saucer actually have the 1940-1966 mark which is a neat thing to know...that the set was made for a longer time than was recorded in the records.

It is GORGEOUS. All I want for Christmas...is a great Shelley!!!

Only 2 days left to Christmas...we're shipping the last of the Christmas orders, including a couple of Shelleys by Express tomorrow. How exciting! Then it's on to Christmas goodies and friends , family and celebrating the birth of Jesus. My favorite time of the year!

The snowglobe is my favorite seasonal graphic.
Merry Christmas!

Hi there!

This is my first post on this blog...so whoop de do!

Life is good, it's the last few days before Christmas and raining, not snowing. But this IS Washington state!

Antiques And Teacups is up and running and I am so excited to finally have my stand alone website. Cool!

Antiques And Teacups will have more of a focus on tea table items and victoriana which is fun. We have so many items I figured it's better to split some off. Over 4,000 on a website is a bit daunting!

How is this for victoriana? I love this pocketwatch fob with the seal and jointed body made during the late victorian era. Click the picture for more information. Quite the male fashion statement hanging from a waistcoat pocket.

Have a great evening. We are going to see a modern version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens titled Ebenezer V. Yesterday we saw the musical Scrooge. Can you tell we love Christmas and that great story?
Have a lovely evening and have an eggnog for me.
