Royal Wedding Wednesday, Wedding Tea Bags

It's Royal Wedding Wednesday with Decor To Adore who is doing What to Wear this week. How exciting to hear her family connection...ambassadorial and OBE! I am so impressed! My brother-in-law attended the honors garden party several years ago but not as a recipient. Well done, you!

I have posted on my English antique blog, Time Was Antiques Family blog, my version of a Royal Wedding Wednesday post which lists some of the gifts received by Prince Charles and Princess Diana at their wedding in 1981. You can find it here:

On a related and fun post, my friend from Afternoon Tea Across America at Yahoo, Elaine from Tea Time Tales blog let us know that she had found something special for the upcoming wedding of William and Kate: Ka-Tea tea bags from Germany:

I think they look like they are in a hot tub with their clothes on...how funny is that?

The other item of Royal Wedding interest from another Afternoon Tea Across America friend who lives in London is her information about one of the teas being planned for the time of the wedding.

Denise has a website called The Great Tea Rooms of America which is a directory of tea rooms. She also leads Tea themed London tours at Tea In London  and is often asked to sample and critique menus for upcoming theme teas.  A few months ago she was asked to critique the upcoming Mothering Sunday tea menu at the Hilton Park Lane Podium Restaurant. She was notified a few days ago about their plans for their Royal Wedding Sapphire Tea named for the Sapphire and diamond engagement ring William gave to Kate. Here are photos and the information she received and gave me permission to post for you:

And as I never do anything without a teacup on this blog....

Here is a Shelley Fruit Center in the Gainsborough shape. Not blueberries..but grapes and apples. For more info on the Shelley teacup and Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.

  2. I live in Germany and actually SAW those tea bags in a store. They made me laugh and I moved on. A day or two later I went back to get some because I wanted to send some to a friend and they were ALL GONE! Darn it.
