Teacup Tuesday Wedgwood Jasperware Cup And Saucer, my Honey, Sequim Lavender Fairs

Well...have gone 3 days with internet access straight...so think they have replaced the correct lines. Hooray!

It's Teacup Tuesday with the wonderful Teacup and Tea time blog parties like:

Teacup Tuesday

Pamela for Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday

Today I am sharing a favorite...a Wedgwood, England blue and white jasperware teacup made in 1959 and featuring the design called Sacrifice Figures. I like the little goat!

It was great fun watching the white jasperware design that is almost paper thin, being applied to the body of the cup and saucer by the skilled artisans at Wedgwood in Barlaston near Stoke-on-Trent. We always visit there and used to go to the main factory in Stoke...but that closed several years ago. At least the Wedgwood Museum in Barlastan was saved during the company's closing and is well worth a visit if you get to the Potteries area.

A progress report on my Honey...we had a heart episode 2 weeks ago. They did all the tests, nuclear scans & stress tests and said the atrial fibrillation he had is like a car whose engine is missing. They have ruled out organic problems, his heart is healthy, but he has "an electrical problem" so they are sending him to a cardiologist that specializes in that. The beta blocker they gave him has improved things, but because he has Parkinson's Disease, various meds affect each other so apparently the new cardiologist will be adept at balancing the various factors concerned. Thanks to everyone for your prayer.

And Prince William and Catherine are home from the visit. This was a photo of the couple arriving for the BAFTA gala honoring 42 up and coming artist awardees. The visit has been proclaimed a success and the couple were labeled warm and "unstuffy". It was quite fun to follow. We still have some William and Kate Royal Wedding mugs available at Antiques And Teacups.

This next weekend is the annual Sequim Lavender Festival, but this year it's a bit different. There are 2 faires...an association split...but the more the merrier! Here are the 2 posters and a video from Good Morning America when the festival was featured, and links to the 2 groups:

  7. Oh, Ruth! So glad you found me at The Writer's Reverie! Your comment about remembering the bluebell woods in England made me tingle with a touch of envy - for I would so love to have seen such a sight with my own eyes. I fear I may possess an unrealistic view of the British Isles - brought on by far too much idealistic imagery from BBC period dramas and 19th century English literature. From your profile we have many loves in common -especially our love of the Lord. I shall be following you - hope to see you visiting me on occasion, too. Bless you and your husband as you navigate his medical issues. God is good and His hand heals and comforts - dispensing wisdom for each step we take.
    Joy to you!
    Miss Kathy
