Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Happy Birthday Ma'am! And a Royal Giveaway!

Hello and welcome to Tuesday cuppa Tea ... and this week it's in Honour of the 90TH birthday of Queen Elizabeth II born on April 21, 1926!

I put together a small tea table in my sunroom...really the lightest room in the house here in the Pacific Northwest, which is why I always use it. My dining room is very dark....to honour Her Majesty on her birthday...

The Union Jack bunting was given to me by my sister-in-law in England in 1981 for the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, and often comes out for Royal events...and this is a special one! Below is one of the official 1953 coronation photos taken by famous photographer Cecil Beaton...

Also from 1953 and Queen Elizabeth II's coronation....

Tea will be poured from this Wedgwood blue jasper teapot with Prince Philip on the reverse...love blue jasperware!

This Shelley China teacup was also made for the coronation in 1953, and is in the Cambridge shape...love the photo, one of the best of the official ones for the coronation, taken by photographer Anthony Armstrong-Jones...soon to be Princess Margaret's husband and given the title Lord Snowden....

I am also using this Heirloom, England bone china teacup made for the Diamond Jubilee in 2012....I still have only a few left at Antiques And Teacups...all the mugs are sold out...

And for tea for the party, I have a tin of  Fortnum & Mason Jubilee tea...still being made as it proved so popular when created for the Diamond Jubilee...we used to stock Fortnum & Mason teas when we had our bricks-and-mortar antiques and tea items store...so I continue to mail order it. Queen Anne, Darjeeling and Afternoon Blend  were our best selling varieties...

It's a big leaf black tea with a lovely flavor....

And...for a treat with your tea...I have cupcakes from our award winning local bakery That Takes the Cake here in Sequim...and she said she had a lot of fun decorating the cupcakes when I explained what I was looking for...

We have pearls on the pastels...because the Queen often wears pearls...as well as a scepter, crowns, handles to make 2 of the cupcakes into teacups and the cute little hat in a color she wears often...

Definitely fit for a queen! So cute!  The table is set with some of my antique Victorian linens, but white so they are hard to see, but treasured from my English grandmother.

I also wanted to inclue this fabulous Queen Elizabeth tea cozy, made by The Queen Of Tea Cozies for the Jubilee last year...she had some made up on her website, but when I went a month ago to try to buy one they were already sold out. She does still have digital patterns/directions available...just visit this link:

I dearly love British Royal memorabilia and have been selling it for over 30 years...and the above is just a few of the items I have on the websites...such fun!

And speaking of British Royal memorabilia and a birthday...there should be presents! So I have a Right Royal Giveaway...featuring the grandchildren of Queen Elizabeth II. For more info on the giveaway and how to enter, click
The drawing will be on April 25, 2016.

  10. The tea cozy is the cutest and the tea looks great. Doesn't the Queen look lovely for 90? I can't even imagine as I think she is pretty. Not many 90 year olds are pretty but she is! Thanks for sharing all the details as you always keep us "in the know" about these matters Ruth! Thanks for sharing and linking.
