Thursday Teacups and Tea Things, 1980s Goose Mug, Christmas Postcard

And welcome to Dec. 8th, 2011 edition of  Thursday Teacups And Tea Things, and joining Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Colorado Lady.
My teacup today is a 1980s tea mug. Remember (if you are old as dirt like I am, decorating your kitchen in geese in the 1980s? This is so that era! I LOVE it!

Isn't that so retro? We lived at a high altitude lake and had Canada geese on  our beach, and also on the roof by the heat vent, all winter which was funny but messy, so I love geese. The mug is signed by the artist Nancy Dickson, 1983. Cool!

And here is my antique Christmas postcard for the day. I love this one because it is such a different color for a Christmas postcard and is SOOO art deco!

The postcard was sent by a snowbird postmarked for Winter Haven, FL on Dec. 18, 1935 to Rev. Woodward Manchester, Conn. How cool!

Look for someone to share the joy of the season with, perhaps not the obvious people in your life...someone in need of some Christmas cheer!

  1. The eighties are not my favorite decade, but the holiday graphics are among my favorites. Your goose is an excellent example. Thank you for sharing. As much as we love tea cups, sometimes what is really needed is a good sturdy mug. That is why I like the Santa ones by Avon I have in the shop so much.

Speaking of great Christmas pictures, today's postcard is unique and beautiful. You have an excellent eye!

  2. Oh the mug is adorable, so old fashion with the goose. I love tea cups, but everyday I only use mugs, plus I don't want to break the teacups from my good sets, I'll cry, lol! I love the post cards, they're unique! Thanks for hosting, here I am. Thanks for dropping by too with your kind comments. Merry Christmas. FABBY
