Green And Gold Teacup, Vintage Art Deco Green Silk Tea Cozy

Hello!I hope you have had a wonderful day. Mine has benn so-so. Wind kicks up the allergies. A-choo! But...not to worry! I am joining Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady.

Still in an Irish mood for St. Patrick's Day, I have chosen a gorgeous green and gold Royal Grafton, England cup and saucer from the 1950-1960s. I love the pattern and workmanship of this teacup. It is just beautiful! Prettier than the photos show.

And with green still on my mind, this is a 1930s ruched silk hand made English padded tea cozy with an art deco design.

A real survivor. A few tea stains. Iy was obviously loved. I look at the way it's made. Lovely! For more info on the teacup of tea cozy at Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.

I am planning a special corned beef and cabbage dinner for tomorrow. We have also had variations on Irish sausages, or bangers as they are called in the UK, most of the week from some I found at Costco. Couldn't believe it!And they are very good! Good UK home cooking or tastes of home.  Had bangers and mash with peas and onion gravy...I draw the line at mushy peas, the English favorite version. We have also had beans, sausages and eggs. The beans are sort of like pork and beans...that's the closest I can think of. Half of the package is now in the freezer for Ron....That's the English phrase from a contraction of "Later On"....English humor. You can groan if you want to.

  11. What a gorgeous teacup, it has such rich and luscious colour to it!

I can't believe what one can find at Cosco - it is shocking how delicious things can be there.....my women's club bought a huge sheet cake there once - and yuck, they usually taste like greasey wax...but this cake was incredible and so so inexpensive! And it was GOOD - so far everything I have ever had from there has been awesome. I will have to try those bangers some time!

    Have a wonderful weekend.
