Such A Different Summer

Such a different summer...
we can't have our usual every-3-day breakfast at a fav local restaurant with our kids who are working on their property from out of state...

Doctors and husband's neurologist stay Stay Inside!

Sigh... the new normal at the moment..

if it weren't for standing on the Rock of the gospel, it would seem shaky indeed...
But I know Whom I have believed in...

This weekend WOULD have been our Sequim Lavender Festival Weekend around here at the 30+ Lavender farms in 10 miles... with 30,000+ extra folks coming into town for the festival, street fair, concerts, crafts, art shows, quilt show etc... the farms are open, but no extras to speak of, and strict mass requirements and social distancing in place...

From past years....

The Lavender is still here... just no crowns, concerts, street fairs etc...
and the glorious scent is still here!

So... we just keep texting and sharing photos or FaveTiming with the kids, and wait for better circumstances.

I am adding lots of things to Antiques And Teacups, and finally getting to some things I have been meaning to list for years... like antique Victorian or Edwardian high button shoe, glove or gaiter buttons from England...

a set of textured grey...

a set of lipstick red shoe buttons...

a mixed lot of kinds and colors...

Always teacups and teapots... like this Sadler, England 1970s Blue Willow teapot...

Artist Lilian Snelling Royal Horicultural Society Queen's, England The Garden cottage garden flower mugs I am just listing...

Rosina, England... 1950s teacup trio...

tea table accessories like toast racks, open salts, butter pats and jam dishes...

hand embroidered tea towels...

tea related souvenirs...
and more!
I am so glad I can continue to enjoy what I do as I plan grocery delivery lists not knowing what I will actually get and other things.
I can't help but remember that compared to our families stories of living in war time England, we have so much to be thankful for!

I hope you are well and coping,
and keeping your eyes on Jesus...

Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Mug, Downton Abbey Contest

Hello! Time for Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady.

Today for my teacup and vintage item, I have a Sadler, England Golden Jubilee mug from 2002. Not too vintage, but I've been thinking nuch about Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee of 60 years on the throne which began Feb. 6th. Available at Antiques And Teacups.

This was my favorite of the Golden Jubilee designs.. Very regal and looks like a trip to the Tower Of London to see the Crown Jewels. Very fitting!

I also want to let all you Downton Abbey on PBS fans know of an opportunity to win a trip to England in September which includes a VIP personal tour of Highclere Castle, the setting for Downton Abbey, afternoon tea with Lady Caenarvon and other goodies that is being given away by PBS. The contest is called the Masterpiece Classic Sweepstakes. To enter, click this link:

Also, you might like to visit Architectural Digest magazine online and view some of the actual rooms of Highclere Castle and learn more about the setting for the Downton Abbey series.

And lastly, for Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee and our 38th wedding anniversary, we will be giving away this Diamond Jubilee English bone china mug. I will tell you how to enter on my Tuesday Cuppa Tea meme.

Have a fun day visiting asll the teacups and vintage thingies! It's so much fun!

Teacup, Tea Pot, Teatime Tuesday, Health Report, Indian Tree China

Thank you so much for all who have been praying for us during my husband's heart issue...I'll give a progress report below.

But...hopefully better late than never...here is my offering for Teacup Tuesday with these great blogs and others:
Teacup Tuesday

Pamela for Teapot and Tea Things Tuesday

This is a teacup and saucer in the Indian Peony or Indian Tree pattern by Collingwood, England made from 1924-1930. I love this pattern.  There are several variations of the pattern with varying names because it was made by perhaps 50-60 different potteries during it's long history, and is even still being made. A perennial favorite.

The pattern developed and was popularized in England during the Raj period of British domination of India and was taken from Indian designs. The pattern has different colorways and slightly different design elements in it's different incarnations, but is easily distinguished as variants on the Indian
Tree theme.

This is the Sadler, England version from the 1950-1960s.

Another Sadler Indian Tree version with a slightly different pattern and colorway.

This is Shelley, England's version which is called variously Indian Tree, Peony, Chippendale and Ovington.

And there are so many other lovely versions by other makers! How fun is that!!!  For more info on any of the items which are in my shop, Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.

Now for a health report on my DH. We just got back from the cardiologists where he had a nuclear imaging and stress test but we won't know anything until later this week or early next week. But he is stable, resting and I am relieved to have that phase over with. Thank you again for the prayers of my friends...it has meant so much. I will post if there is any news. Thank you again.

Have a great day visiting the other Teacup & Tea things posts today...I plan to enjoy them all!
Cheers!
