Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Shelley Pink Rose Teacup, Salt Creek Recreation Area

Hello and welcome to Tuesday Cuppa Tea where we share things related to the wonderful and restful pastime of taking tea! Find a comfortable seat, a cup of tea and relax!

My teacup today is a Shelley...surprise! Surprise! That always makes me think of a wallpaper border...

The design is a pattern called Pink Rose, and shares some of the same elements of Rose Spray Chintz with the pretty blue bands. It was actually made in several aother colors for the bands, but the blue has always been my favorite...

The shape of this one is Henley, and the pattern was made pretty well through most of Shelley's existence, from 1940-1966 when the pottery closed.

The pattern number is 13247, and after the slash is the color number of this particular blue colorway.
I love any color, as long as it's blue!
Well, I like a lot of the others too, but blue is certainly my favorite!

It is really finally summer here, and we have our daughter and son in law arriving on Tuesday for a visit...partly because it is my Honey's birthday on Friday, and part to just visit and check up on my health!

The last time they were here, they stayed at a local Washington state recreation area, Salt Creek,  just to the west of Port Angeles on highway 112 on the way to the most northwest corner and point of the USA.
They like camping beacuse they always travel with their dogs, and find it easier.
The area is gorgeous! But isolated, so the road washes out often during the winter.
I thought you might like to see some of our local area here.
There are hiking trails, camp sites for tenters and RVs, picnic areas and play areas as well as tidepools and sandy beach access. I realized I only took beach photos!

This was at the Tongue Point area of campsites where there were also picnic benches.  The kids had a campsite here on a bluff overlooking the beach.
My breathing is best at the coast!
Although you can't see it in these photos, Victoria, BC harbour is just across the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
We can see the mountains on Vancouver Island from home.

If you look closely, you can see a paddle boarder. I did a closeup of the boarder in the photo above. The day was beautiful! We, however, stayed dry!

There were wild pink dog roses everywhere, but the bright sunlight washed out the color on the photos.

If you look closely in the photo above, you can see Vancouver Island's mountains with snow below the clouds...

As you can see, it was perfect summer weather! But we have rain in the forecast when they are here this week, so we'll see how it actually turns out.

They are camping at another place this time... Sequim Bay Washington State Park about 3 miles from Sequim.
I'll probably share a few photos of that visit soon!

I am not posting a linky this week, because with the kids here, I have no idea when, where or what we will be doing, so thought it would be best to leave it off.
Have a lovely week, and talk to you soon!
