Tuesday Cuppa Tea For Beginning of May...and Taking a Break...

Hello and welcome to Tuesday Cuppa Tea for May.

I wanted to share a Robin's egg blue Paragon teacup this week...that I just love...

The pretty design is hand colored on a speia or light brown transferware design. So pretty!

The beautifully made teacup has the double royal warrant for Queen Elizabeth, aka as the Queen Mum, wife of King George VI and her mother Queen Mary, wife of King George V and was made between 1937 and 1952 when the mark changed when Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne.

So pretty, and perfect for Mother's Day which is May 13th. And a very special blessing to all of you who are mothers or who are nuturing spirits!

And I wanted to share some pages for May drom the Contry Diary of an Edwardian Lady...

The drawings of Edith Holden in the Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady from 1904 are just too special to miss!

You can see why I thought of it, as it has her wonderful drawing of the nest of a Chaffinch with Hyacinths.

These are White-Throats and their nest with crab apple blossoms

O velvet bee, you're a dusty fellow,
You've powdered your legs with gold!
O brave marshmary buds, rich and yellow,
Give me your money to hold!

O columbine, open your folded wrapper,
Where 2 twin turtledoves dwell!
O cuckoo-pint toll me the purple clapper
That hangs in your clear green bell

Drawings of Common Garlic, Wild Arum, Cuckoo-pint and Lords And Ladies or Arum Maeulatum

Depicted are Red Campion, Wild Hyacinth and Wild Beaked Parsley

I hope you have seen as many natural wonders as you have been out and about this month. God's creation is always such a joy to discover and appreciate and brings such wonder!
Thanks so much for joining me for tea. There is no linky this week, as...

Just want you to know, I...or rather Tuesday Cuppa Tea, is taking a break for 2 weeks...we need to get some things done due to changes in our life right now, so this seems like a good time to focus on that and have a break.

Tuesday Cuppa Tea should be back the week of May 22, but I might be late posting as we will be busy that prior weekend, and not sure what the schedule will be.
As it is the weekend of Prince Harry's wedding, we will be attending a tea out of town, so....
See you seeon, and I hope you will be enjoying lots of tea with friends! I will!

  9. Ruth, lovely post. I had afternoon tea yesterday at a place that will be having a special wedding tea on Saturday, complete with television brought in for wedding (after the fact) viewing. I won't be getting up early to watch the wedding coverage, but I'll see it afterward on streaming.
