Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Fall Tones And Colors, Romantic Homes Ad, Rosina Teacup

Hello and welcome to an October Tuesday Cuppa Tea.

Today is an Indian Summer day, sunny, mild and golden.  The wreath is on the door....welcome...come on in for a cup of tea!

The teacup I have today is by Rosina, England...a favorite maker.

The Rosina brand has disappeared back into the Queen's China brand which is one of the few remaining old English china manufacturers that managed to change with the times and survive, and is still producing quality bone china in England todya. Huzzah!!!!

The pattern number of this is 4984, and it is unnamed. I think it's dog or wild roses though, and hand colored on transfer, which if you follow the blog much, you know I love! It's sometimes called polychrome, or many colors.   and I love the floral chintz bands and gold trim. The cup and saucer was made between 1948 and 1952. Rosina was originally descended from George Warrilow and Warrilow & Cope's Queen's Pottery from the late 1880s.  For more info on this teacup at Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.  I do love Rosina teacups!

I wanted to share some lovely fall Victoria magazines that I found today and perused while having my afternoon cup of tea in the sunroom on my wicker chair....

The top is the September/October 2012 issue, and the bottom 2 are from 2008 and 2009...I love looking through the old issues that never grow old...

The 2012 issue was subtitled Special British Issue and includes Edinburgh, Scotland, British food like the fish and chips shown with a Bakewell Tart and equestrienne design items for decorating....lovely photos.  What magazines do you save and savor over the years?

Speaking of magazines, Antiques And Teacups is part of a Shabby Lane Shops co-op ad in the Holiday issue of Romantic Homes magazine!

My part is some Roy Kirham, England Christmas Ribbon mugs I have in stock.  I love Romantic Homes. I have advertised in quite a few magazines over the years. It's always fun to hear from folks all over the country.

I want to leave you today with some fall pumpkin decorations from my files from Sunset magazine... a West Coast favorite....

I would love hearing from you...please leave a comment, and add your tea related post to the linky for Tuesday Cuppa Tea. I am in the midst of redoing my blog links list, which I didn't get done in time, so I'll have that done soon! Have a great week, and enjoy a cup of tea with a friend.

  14. Dear Ruth,
I have the very same teacup from my mother and am so happy to learn about it from you. I believe I appreciate it more now. I love how you always give us a little history lesson.
Love my Victoria magazines. I have all of the old ones under my bed in tubs and it is my pleasure to bring a few out at a time and relish every page. I love the magazine now-but back then, every article, ad, photo and idea just spoke to me.
Have a lovely weekend, Ruthie from Lady B's
