Hand Painted Poppy Teacup...Definitely Vintage!

It's Thursday...and so time for Thursday Teacups And Tea Things. I am joining Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady and Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser. as well. So fun! Love to see all the great thingies!

I love vintage teacups, and I especially love the 1930-1940s era. There were several styles popular then, but one of my favorites were the hand colored on transfer china that was popular. This is a current favorite example.

This pretty bone china teacup was made by Salisbury China, England in the 1940s. I just love it! And the fun thing is these hand colored teacups are never exactly the same, but left room for the individual artist's expression. I love the poppies and pink and blue are a favorite color combination anyway. What's not to love??!!

  1. Things made during that time frame were just better and more colorful. Love your cup and saucer.

  2. I love the pattern on the teacup. Up until now I was never one to buy teacups - but they look so pretty. I think I might start.
