Such A Different Summer

Such a different summer...
we can't have our usual every-3-day breakfast at a fav local restaurant with our kids who are working on their property from out of state...

Doctors and husband's neurologist stay Stay Inside!

Sigh... the new normal at the moment..

if it weren't for standing on the Rock of the gospel, it would seem shaky indeed...
But I know Whom I have believed in...

This weekend WOULD have been our Sequim Lavender Festival Weekend around here at the 30+ Lavender farms in 10 miles... with 30,000+ extra folks coming into town for the festival, street fair, concerts, crafts, art shows, quilt show etc... the farms are open, but no extras to speak of, and strict mass requirements and social distancing in place...

From past years....

The Lavender is still here... just no crowns, concerts, street fairs etc...
and the glorious scent is still here!

So... we just keep texting and sharing photos or FaveTiming with the kids, and wait for better circumstances.

I am adding lots of things to Antiques And Teacups, and finally getting to some things I have been meaning to list for years... like antique Victorian or Edwardian high button shoe, glove or gaiter buttons from England...

a set of textured grey...

a set of lipstick red shoe buttons...

a mixed lot of kinds and colors...

Always teacups and teapots... like this Sadler, England 1970s Blue Willow teapot...

Artist Lilian Snelling Royal Horicultural Society Queen's, England The Garden cottage garden flower mugs I am just listing...

Rosina, England... 1950s teacup trio...

tea table accessories like toast racks, open salts, butter pats and jam dishes...

hand embroidered tea towels...

tea related souvenirs...
and more!
I am so glad I can continue to enjoy what I do as I plan grocery delivery lists not knowing what I will actually get and other things.
I can't help but remember that compared to our families stories of living in war time England, we have so much to be thankful for!

I hope you are well and coping,
and keeping your eyes on Jesus...

  1. You have such lovely things you will be listing! In a sad way I am also happy you have time to list things. It has to feel good and fulfilling. These tasks keep us from going bonkers. I am having good and bad days with this severe isolation, as I can imagine you do as well.

Ah - the scent of lavender........I shall never forget being in Provence when the lavender was in bloom. I have been in love with lavender ever since that time. ♥ Thank you for the reminder.

    Stay well.
