Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Pink Spring Tea For April

Hello and welcome to Tuesday Cuppa Tea for April! The photo above is from Victoria magazine a few years ago, and features a quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:
If Spring came but once
in a century, instead of once a year,
or burst forth with the sound
of an earthquake, and not in silence,
what wonder and expectation
would there be in all hearts
to behold the miraculous change.

When you have a sunroom and you live in the Pacific Northwest, you use it! We spend more time in here than anywhere...the best for light and sun. The lack thereof most of the year in the rest of the house, makes photography difficult, so that's another plus for the sunroom!

Teatime this week was prompted by spring beginning to pop out buds on the trees and have Tulips poking up, although still green. So I wanted some flowers!

I chose a couple of cheery pink teacups. This English bone china teacup from the 1910-1920s has a wonderful collection of spring flowers, but doesn't have a name.

The maker is Crown Staffordshire, who dated from Stoke-On-Trent in 1889, was merged into Wedgwood in 1973, and retired by WWRD (Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton) in 1985.

Their workmanship was always wonderful! Another pottery I miss!!!

This next teacup is a 1950s is porcelain, Japanese, and has such a pretty pink rose design. I don't know the maker, but it has brushed gold trim which denotes a design with extra care and time taken on it. Love that!

As you can see..totally unmarked. The teacup probably had a foil sticker on it which didn't survive use and washing. I think it is lovely!

I got out some of my antique postcards to decorate the tea table...I do love them!

I love old postcards because of the glimpses they afford into past times and hearts...lovely!

My tablecloth or tea cloth is hand embroidered 1930-1940s in the pattern usually called Crinoline Lady, 18th Century Lady or Sunbonnet Sue, although those are usually a bit chubbier and more country.

The dress is pink in 1 corner, and red in the other 3 corners...I LOVE vintage linens!  I just found 3 boxes from our bricks-and-mortar antique and tea items shop we closed in 2003 from the back of the guest room closet, so I am in a linen mood!

And of course, we need a teatime treat! I made a Salted Caramel Pineapple Upside Down Cake this week...

I will post the recipe later...too long a post!  I served it on one of my Shelley China Blue Rock Dainty shape dinner plates. Love my Shelley!

The teapot is an Arthur Woods I have, I thought the pink roses went so well for spring. And to make a teacup stck...I added a blushing pink Shelley teacup in the Lincoln shape...but the design inside is fall fruit...so you are only seeing the outside! Lol!

So thanks for joining me for a first-of-April pink spring tea! Here are a few tea related blog parties I am joining...

Thanks so much for joining me for tea!  Here is the linky for your tea related posts...please remember that it is SSSLLLOOOOOOWWWW but if you are patient...it's there! Depending on my health…I am so looking forward to visiting you!
