Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge Visits Downton Abbey Set

I know there are a lot of fans of both the TV series Downton Abbey and of the British Royal family...especially with William & Kate...aka The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge expecting the "spare" having already produced the "Heir".

As I reported on my Facebook page on March 12th, Catherine spent the day at London's Ealing Studios where many of the scenes...not the exteriors of course!...are shot...

The visit was prompted by the tremendous asset the show has been to England...both as an employer but also as a tourist draw.  Catherine spent time with the cast and received a bouquet and train for baby George from George Crawley...played by Oliver Barker how is one of a set of triplets and shares the role with his other male sibling.

She toured all the various venues and met the actors...some in wardrobe, some in make-up and watched rushes of the show...

Carson probably was negotiating a change of jobs to Kensington Palace...

Looks like Thomas joined in to give pointers in hairdressing for Mrs. Hughes...

And spent time chatting with Isabelle Crawley, Lord Grantham and Lady Edith in the hall...Basically a wonderful time was had by all!

  2. So great that Duchess Catherine is a fan of Downton, like us non-royals. It's always interesting to see the Downton actors in "normal" clothes and hairstyles. My uncle lives very close to this studio in Ealing. Unfortunately he has no interest in the show. LOL
