Red White And Blue Lingers...

The red, white and blue of the 4th of July lingered a bit this week due to company who came for an afternoon bearing gifts...and a yard sale....

Some out of town friends stopped by for the afternoon on their way to Seattle for an Alaska cruise...we met them on a cruise a few years ago, so it was nice to see them. We had tea in the sunroom...after they left, I thought...I should have photographed that! Sigh...so I put some of the elements together again...

The wreath is a simple one I made a few years ago with folded red, white and blue and patriotic gros grain ribbon pieces pinned on a styrofoam base with a silver metallic star garland intertwined...sometimes it lives on the front door at this time of year...

Our friends had stopped at a local store and brought red, white and blue chocolate cupcakes...and we had quite a few left....very sweet...

We had tea in my Royal Doulton Rosebud vintage bone china...sort of my best dishes...from the 1940s. I love the set!

And a new family addition...I found this 1930s Sadler Brigadoon pattern hexagonal teapot at a yard sale the other day on my way to the grocery store...stopped on a whim...and was so glad I did. I have sold so many red transferware teapots in my shops over the years, but will be keeping this one.

Have a lovely weekend! I will be posting the Tuesday Cuppa Tea tea party linky on Sunday.

  3. I'm looking for a red transferware teapot too and hope I find one as pretty as yours! And I just have to tell you that I bought my first Shelley teacup today at an estate sale. I credit you for educating me about Shelley teacups! It's the beautiful Dainty Blue design and it is so sweet. I just love the shape and the blue color. And I got it for 25% off--yay!
