Royal Winton Chintz Teacup, Modern Engagement Rings

Good morning! I am joining Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady today.

I haven't shared any chintz patterned cups and saucers for a while, so here is a Royal Winton and Grimwades, England demitasse, mocha or espresso cup and saucer in the Kinver Chintz pattern that was made from 1934 to 1950. I love the chintz patterns. Many were made by several different companies, and new versions of these old chintzes were reintroduced by a new version of Royal Winton Grimwades  in the 1990s before they were absorbed and pretty well have disappeared. The moved production out of the UK in the 1990s as well, so the newer ones are made differently and it is noticeable. But still very decorative. For more info, click on the photos.

We had a fun experience at Antiques And Teacups this week. We sold this ring:

which was a 1970s retro US made 14kt gold with genuine green Tourmaline and Peridots. But...and this is what was fun, the ring was purchased as an engagement ring! I love the use of color for that! I got an email today saying they had been looking for a long time for the perfect ring, and this was it and they couldn't be happier. How cool is that!

Have a great day visiting the wonderful blog posts. I love to see what everyone shares!

  5. Your chintzware is lovely, but your ring story is simply beautiful! Hubby gave me a blue topaz heart ring as an engagement ring, because he knew I liked colors better than diamonds. Wait until I tell him about this!

  6. Oh I love Chintz...so pretty. Our daughter has a vintage sapphire ring for her engagement ring also. Seems to be the current favor with the younger set.
Enjoyed your post about Victoria too.
