Thursday Teacups And Tea Things, Colclough Teacup, Vintage Thingie Trifle Set

Hello and welcome to Thursday Teacups And Tea Things. I am also joining Miss Spenser's Teacup Thursday and Vintage Thingie Thursday with Coloradolady.

My teacup today is another art deco hand colored on transfer cup and saucer by Colclough, England made between 1939-1945. Unfortunately Colclough,  one of my favorite manufacturers, like most...no longer in business. Sigh...

If you have followed my blog for long, you know how much I appreciate the artist's license of these hand painted on transfer teacups. There is so much room for individual interpretation, and no 2 are alike...even from the same artist. I think that is just too cool!

And for Vintage Thingie Thursday, and from about the same era, here is a boxed set called variously a dessert set, pudding set (dessert to you Yanks), berry set  or trifle set consisting of a large serving spoon and smaller individual spoons. I just love them and have fond memories of finding the box in the sideboard when it was time for trifle. I loved it, my husband says he developed an abhorrence for it as a child...too squishy! Anyway, they were very ubiquitous...every home had a set in England. This set is in excellent condition as far as the spoons, but the box shows a lot of wear. But you don't eat with the box! so who cares!

Have fun visiting the other teacups and thingies and enjoy your Thursday!
