Teacup Tuesday, Lake Louise Poppies Teacup, Back From Holiday

Hello friends...I am back from a week's holiday from blogging and ready for Teacup Tuesday, Tea Time Tuesdat, Tea Pot and Tea Time Tuesday and ,ore! I have a partial participation list at the bottom of the post, so please visit all the great tea related blogs!

This week I am sharing the summer themed...to me anyway...Royal Chelsea, England teacup in the pattern Lake Louise Poppies. Royal Chelsea, England made this bone china teacup between 1940-1943. The teacup is hand enameled over transfer, and is almost like a tube line piece.  For more info on the Lake Louise Poppies teacup at Antiques And Teacups, click on the photos.

The reason it speaks summer to me is because when I visited Lake Louise, Alberta Canada on a Rocky Mountain Rail Tour round trip week from Vancouver, BC. there were icelandic poppies everywhere, and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has a restaurant called the Poppy Room or Braserie. The lake was beautiful. I found a couple of photos I had but I think the rest are on my other computer...and I'm too lazy to go get them!

And speaking of Canada, we had a visit with friend for part of our holiday week in Vancouver, BC. The weather was GORGEOUS and quite warm. Lovely! On Friday, we were walking to a restaurant and my DH thought he was having a recurrence of the atrial fibrillation problem he had in June, but it turned out he felt the 6.4 earthquake they had just off Vancouver Island that was felt all the way down to Seattle. That was a relief! No heart prob, and no injuries from the earthquake either!

These are photos of Canada Place where the cruise ships dock, False Creek and a waterbus taxi to the North Shore.

On Saturday we caught the 6:40 am...too early!...Amtrak train back to Seattle then caught the ferry to Bainbridge Island and home! A great break, great to see friends, and nice to be home.  Oh...here is a photo of our friend (a bit of a nut) we took....he posed it....

Sheesh!!!!A nut case, but a fun one.  Oh...lastly, a photo after dinner at our favorite restaurant in Stanley Park, The Fish House watching the last cruise ship of the night head out to sea. Lovely! That's me on the bench...but you knew that, I am positive!!!!

  1. Hello Ruth,
What a pretty teacup. I love the poppies. I'm not usually a lover of orange but the teacup is lovely. Lake Louise is beautiful, isn't it? I have never been there but I've seen pictures and my son tells me it is as beautiful as one can imagine. Thank you for sharing today. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

Your tea cup with poppy decoration is very summer-like and adorable.
But I was really amazed by the beauty of Canadian landscapes and city views.
By the way, this week my tea cups have handpainted landscape decoration and I'm looking forward to your visit...
